AHPA MEETING MINUTES - July 2008

The Aloha Hawaiian Parrot Association held its July meeting at the Neil Blaisdell park in Aiea on Sunday, July 13, 2008. The members gathered for brief club announcements including an update on the negotiations with Dr. Irene Pepperberg. The club was informed of a scheduled date, Dec 2-7 Dr. Pepperberg would be on Oahu. Plans continue to commence for her arrival and the speaking engagement and cocktail party.
Dr. Brian Walsh from Feather and Fur Animal Clinic in Kaneohe was our guest speaker. He provided an informative and through lecture in avian nutrition, behavior and grooming. Members were educated about these important topics and questions were answered. Thank you Dr. Walsh for your time and expertise, we truly appreciate you! Next meeting will be held on August 10, 2008 at Neil Blaisdell Park when we will hold a pet supply swap meet.
