Meeting was held at the Neil Blasidell Park in Pearl City at 12:00 pm. There were approximately 25 members were present. One new family joined the club and paid their annual dues. Karen Tyson, club events coordinator reminded members to bring a donation for our February silent auction and updated members with results from survey conducted at the December meeting. The membership was unanimous in raising annual dues to 23.00 per person, or 28.00 for a family. Club members agreed to participate in the Pet Expo in May and raising funds to bring Dr. Irene Pepperberg to speak at the club if possible. Guest speaker was Emily Gardner, Animal Attorney. Emily educated members on animal laws, estate planning for animal care and trusts. Additionally, she spoke about contractual limits when leaving your bird/pet with a pet sitter. Emily answered questions from the group and provided some literature and her business card. A potluck lunch and club socializing followed.
