AHPA MEETING MINUTES
August 13th, 2006

By Makena

The meeting opened with Heidi Midyett.  She is going to sail around the world and needs a home for her tiel.  Please contact Elizabeth if you are interested or know someone.

The August meeting proved to be the proverbial herding of cats into two groups.  One group discussed their Eclectus.  The other group discussed their Greys.  Origins, behavior, and overall questions about each species were discussed.  Hope everyone remembers the answers as the questions may show up in the games at Christmas.

We had a special surprise guest.  April Cravens was in town and stopped by.  She proved to be worth her weight in GOLD and that is a lot these days.  She stepped up and spent time with the Grey group.

Elizabeth reminded the members to show up on time for September’s meeting.  FYI – The Aloha Hawaiian Parrot Association will meet at the front gate of the Honolulu Zoo on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at 1:30.  Topic for the meeting will be Parrot Enrichment. Linda Santos of the Honolulu Zoo will be our speaker and hostess.  Please be on time, because once we enter the Zoo, latecomers will miss out.  Please DO NOT bring your bird(s), food or chairs.  This will be a tour and demonstration.

Respectfully submitted,
Makena
